The Feeling of Achievement
February 15, 2009

Heather and her children Zaine & Zyler
My son Zaine is five years old. He has been doing karate now for the last two months. When he first began, we had put him in because he was getting picked on by the older kids at school. Karate has taught him so much. He has more confidence in himself, isn’t scared to talk to kids he doesn’t know, or to defend himself. This past Saturday February 14th, he graduated from a white belt to a yellow belt. To see his face when they called his name made me so proud. He was so proud of himself and I was so glad that I could be a part of it. Driving to Cincinnati two and three times a week, for a thirty minute practice, at times is a challenge. But that look on his face, I will always remember. I feel like I achieved something to that day. I am just so glad that I can make him happy and that he has something positive to look forward to every week. Heather

Heather, I enjoyed reading about Zaine and his accomplishment. Traveling to Cnicinnati would be difficult, but seeing our children grow and learn is what parents strive for in life. I am proud of him too….he rocks!!
