Getting Comfortable in Speech Class

April 9, 2009

Hello, my name is Taryn and I am in Candee Basford’s 115 Speech Class. When I first signed up for the speech class, I was nervous because I hate speaking in front of people. But after being in the class a couple of times, I feel like she is going to make speaking in front of the class more comfortable. She is very easy to get along with. I like it when she tries to get everyone to dance in the class. The longer I am in the class, the more comfortable I feel around other students, although I know I will still be nervous! I am majoring in Early Childhood Education and I know if I want to become a teacher, I am going to have to get over the fact of being nervous to talk in front of people. Sooner or later its going to be my job!

Your right, you will have to get over your fear of speaking if your going to be a teacher lol so good luck with that. I agree with you about Candee she makes the class a light hearted environment which makes it easier to speak in front of one another.

i was very nervous also but the feedback on the evaluation was awesome cause it’s nice to hear what people have to say without actually hearing them. good luck in class.

You are right, our teacher really makes it easier on us, and she really loves to start the class off with some music. All of the activities she had us do really made us feel more than just a class, but a people with a common cause. We are all really just the same.
    see you in class!
