Final Speech
The last day of class I also gave my final speech. I gave my final speech on post-secondary or PSEO. I tried to convince everyone in the class what a good program that it was and how much it can help someone out. Since I have been in this program I have earned 96 credit hours and got my associates degree in science. Now I am moving on to a bigger college in the fall of this year. Since I have taken all my basic classes at southern state I don’t have to at Eastern Kentucky, and this will save me a lot of money and time. So I encourage everyone to push their kids or family members towards the PSEO program, because I guarantee that it is a choice they never will forget.
But with that said I would like to tell everyone that I had a great time in this class and it was the funnest class I have had a Southern State. Looking back I never would have thought that this class would have been the best, because it is speech and who likes to give speeches but Candee made this class very fun. As well as everyone else in the class. But since the class is over now I want to wish everyone the best of luck, especially Candee with her new job.

Turkey Hunting
This past speech was a demonstration. I taught the class about turkey hunting. I felt like I did a good job. I thought that my eye contact and volume was really good. I also dressed in full camouflage and brought in all of my equipment so that the class would get the full experience of turkey hunting. I taught the class a little history on turkeys, about their tendencies, how to set up for best success, and also how to position yourself for the shot. I feel like the class got a better understanding of turkey hunting and could possibly go hunting for themselves. I hope everyone goes out and tries it for themselves.

Green Eggs and Ham
This past class, I read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. I thought it went well and I was very satisfied with the grade I got. I thought I had good eye contact, good volume, and good posture. The only problem I had was with my posture. I usually do not have perfect posture, so I had to concentrate on it while I presented. So I thought my posture was good. My eye contact was not a big deal because I usually have no problem with it. As for my volume, I am not a quiet person. I did not have to focus on volume for that reason. I am pretty sure everybody in the room heard me as I read my book. However, I do probably need to work on my tone. I found myself sounding monotone throughout parts of the reading.
Reading this story reminded me of my childhood. My mom used to read this story to me before I went to bed at night. Dr. Suess was one of my favorite authors and I loved all of his stories. I always liked it when my mom read this books to me, so I wanted to relive the moment.

Nervousness
When anyone hears the word speech, their heart starts racing, their hands get sweaty, and their stomach knots up. So everyone dreads giving speeches I guess. Well I guess I am not just anyone. Growing up, I have always enjoyed giving speeches if it was over a topic that I enjoyed and if I was in front of people who I knew. Even though I like to give speeches, that does not mean that I do not get nervous. I always get nervous when I walk up there, but when I start, all the nervousness goes away. It is as if I am in my own little world. I hope that I can control my nervous ways in this speech class in front of all of these new faces. I also like to give speeches over topics of my choice and this class will enable me to do just that. This will also help me with my nervousness because I will feel more comfortable while I am delivering my speeches.
I believe that this speech class will be a huge help to me in my life now and later down the road. This will help me with college interviews, scholarship interviews, and job interviews. I believe this class will make me look more legit and professional in the future. This speech class will be very helpful and I am looking forward to learn how to speak well.
