Butterflies

Hello everyone! Signing up for speech class was tough; this is finally my last quarter before receiving my associates degree and I’m sure like many of you, this class could no longer be avoided. I am a very social person and could talk for hours one on one, however, when it comes to being only one person in front of what seems like the entire world, well, yeah… you know how it is. The nervousness sets in, butterflies fill my stomach, my hands sink into my pockets, and my feet, oh my feet, if they could just act normal and save me the embarrassment of looking like I should have hit up the ladies room. Anyhow, it seems like most of you know what I’m talking about and deal with these same feelings, so maybe, just maybe, speech class won’t be so bad after all. 🙂

I agree with you. It’s so easy to talk one-on-one with friends, but when you put me in front of a classroom of people I shut down. Honestly, I thought I would be the only one terrified of public speaking, but as I read more and more blog posts it seems we’re all in the same boat.
