Who is Mia Hamm?

When we were going over our visuals today in class I heard a lot of people asking who is Mia Hamm, which made me realize that when I did my informative speech I didn’t do a good enough job going over the players…

Growing up playing soccer Mia Hamm was my idol, she was born with a club foot and overcame that, at the age of 15 she made the Women’s National Team, which for those of you who don’t know, yes at 15 she was on her way to the Olympics, she was the youngest player to ever make the National team.

She went on to play at the University of North Carolina, on a scholarship, and she led them to 4 NCAA national championships, she has also led the National team to 2 Olympic Gold Medals, One silver, and 2 world cup championships.

She was who I wanted to be when I grew up.

I knew who Mia Hamm was but I had no clue about who she was growing up, thanks for clearing that up. I’ve played soccer all my life too so its nice to see someone with the same intersts as me in the class.
