I’m Normal

When I first signed up for speech class I was scared to death.  I hate speaking in front of big groups of people that I do not know, but knowing that everyone in the class is just as nervous as I am makes it a little easier.  The first few weeks have flown by and the more time I have with the people the more comfortable I will be when making my speeches.  Also, knowing that it is normal to be scared helps.  Many of the famous public speakers are nervous of making speeches. As the Roman orator Cicero said: “I turn pale at the outset of a speech and quake in every limp and in my soul.”  A survey that was done found out that 42% of people are terrified of public speaking.  This, is the thing that helps me the most.
