Standing in front

Our speech class finally completed our readings.  I was absolutely terrified.  I am really good at talking to people, as long as I don’t have to stand up in front of them.  I was really nervous when I had to give my speech.  We learned a couple of weeks ago that everyone else is just as nervous as we are and that helped me a lot.  I kept reminding myself that no matter how nervous I was, everyone else was nervous too.  Afterwards, I felt very relieved to know that my turn was over.  Everyone was very supportive and no one was judgemental.  As a class, we got to see what each individual was like and see who they truly are.  It was interesting to listen to the things that everyone else was interested in.

You know I think just about everyone feels that way. I know I was terrified at first, and like you said, I felt this huge sense of relief when I had finished. I’m so surprised to found just how many people are terrified of public speaking!

I think its helpful also knowing that everyone feels the same way about standing up there talking in front of the whole class. I like the way mrs basford teaches though seems to be more relaxing and she helpful
