Emerging from the dirt

I was want to say that I think everyone did  a fabulous job.  The first is always the hardest. It takes a great amount of courage to stand before your peers and speak, and we all did!!! Over the years, I personally have spoken several times and I have always gotten nervous, it a natural emotion. But the more you practice the less intense it becomes.

I have learn something in the last few years of my life that has really help to change me and the way I respond to others, that is acceptance is very important to the development of  your own and other peoples gifts. Let me take a minute to explain. What do I mean by acceptance? I am talking about when someone recognizes that you have a gift, ability, talent, etc. and they encourage you to pursue or continue to explore the possibilities. So many times in life these gifts are buried treasures hidden from the world by dirt that has been thrown onto one’s life and they are forgotten. The problem is that you were born or created to be that treasured gift and it just keeps popping up all through your life. For some of us, thank God, someone comes along and believes in us and starts to recognize that we are supposed to do this. They help us to find acceptance for ourselves and this is the biggest obstacle of all. Most of the time we know that we have this gift but we are looking for someone else to see it too. So many times we are held back because no one believes in us so, we don’t believe in ourselves either. That is where this idea of acceptance comes in. When someone begins to recognize that gift in you, it empowers you to keep going against the obstacles and be all you can be, as the army used to say. I want to say that I believe in all of you and that you can become what you were created to be. I truly believe that everyone in our class has  incredible and wonderful gifts to give to the world and I cannot wait to see and hear the future speeches.

One last thing I would like to say is THANK YOU. It was amazing to read all the feedback papers. You were all so very kind and inspiring with your comments. It just proves that when people give you their acceptance, you move forward in the thing that your were created to be. Thanks again.

Eric P.

You are a very talented person with a great heart. Do not ever let anyone tell you differently. Each of us has a talent or a passion in our lives some chose to do nothing about it for fear of rejection. I do not think you are one of those people and I am proud of you for that. Keep up the good work and stay strong in your convictions.
