Art of Articulation

One definition of articulation is, “The act of vocal expression; utterance or enunciation”.  Another definition is,  “A jointing together or being jointed together”. I would like to talk about the second definition and how I think that it pertains to our speech class. I think that this is exactly what is happening in our class. Each time that we lower our guard, step to the podium we become more jointed (connected). We reveal aspects of ourselves and in doing so, allow an opening or a place for someone to connect with our history, lives, emotion, intellect, passion-with the real us. I do not even think that we our aware that this is taking place, it is just happens. However, I do believe that our teacher is aware of this potential and that is part of her goal. In our world were we are so busy and disconnected, I think that we are missing out on what gifts, wonderful people have to offer. I have truly been given so much from all of you in the little time that we have been together and I thank you all. I believe that in order for each of us the accomplish the “one thing” in our lives, we must know that someone is believing in us and that we are being jointed together for a greater cause. This is the power of the art of articulation.
