Why Speech Class?

I think speech class is a pretty important class and is very beneficial to every student. Speech class teaches students to be a more effective speakers along with the fundamentals of speech. Students learn how to talk in front of their classmates easier and are not so nervous talking in front of a crowd. I believe that it makes a person also sound more intelligent when addressing groups of people. It also helps deliver your thoughts to others. A person is more likely to have all their attention on a person with a speech that flows more fluently and sounds intelligent. The more the student knows about the subject of their speech the better. It’s also a good idea to give a speech on something that you strongly believe in because your speech will probably be a lot better.

I also know that communication is a big part of speaking. An effective speaker wants to be sure he/she knows how to communicate with the audience. I think when practicing good communication, it’s a good idea to properly identify your audience. It’s not good to speak to the wrong audience. A good example of this would be a democratic convention where someone running for office is speaking about republican beliefs. Communication is key in understanding others. Without people who can speak multiple languages then communication would be very hard between other countries. Speech class and communication are both important in delivering a good speech.

I agree with you on how important speech class is for all of th reasons that you listed above because it will eventually affect your future. Another good point that you had was about believeing in what you give in your speech because if you believe in it then you will study it better and know more about the subject. Oh yeah and you still can’t play poker.
