Things to Remember

March 19, 2011 at 2:35 pm 5 comments

I really enjoyed the speech class. I learned a lot about public speaking. The main things I learned were also the things that I wrote on my poster for the visual aid.

  • Pick a topic you truly care about.
  • Organize your thoughts logically.
  • Tailor you message to the audience.
  • When you tell a story, tell the story for maximum impact.
  • Adapt to the listeners feedback.
  • Most nervousness is not visible.
  • Keep eye contact and think positively.

These things were very helpful to me and hopefully will be helpful to anyone who reads this.

Thanks for the information John. Now going in to this class I know more about what to expect and how to better prepare myself before i give a speech. I also know more about what Candee is going to expect of me this quarter.

    John,
Thanks for the great tips. They will come in handy when I write my speeches. It’s only the first week of class, but I know I am going to enjoy it. The teacher is encouraging and a lot of fun! The students are bonding fast and counting on each other for support to get through the nervous time.
